Today marks 50 years of celebrating Earth Day and while that milestone is a huge accomplishment, it means we need to decide what kind of action we are taking for the next 50 years.
We’ve all heard it before. “Electric cars charge using dirty fuel” and that is both somewhat a falsehood and somewhat true. Electric cars are cleaner than gasoline powered vehicles, even when they charge using electricity generated from natural gas or other fossil fuels, but they are even better when they use 100% renewable energy. Sadly, not every EV charging network uses 100% renewable energy or even commits to offsetting their carbon pollution.
In honor of Earth Day 2020, Recharge has an exciting announcement to make.
Every single charging session in the Recharge experience, whether it’s ChargePoint, EVgo, Electrify America, or even Greenlots chargers, will either be powered by renewable energy or offset by carbon credits. We are tracking where our users electricity comes from so they don’t have to.
Adventure shouldn’t pollute the earth and we are committed to a clean future.
